The construction of the Grand Paris Express is exposed to a
variety of risks consistent with its geographical scope and
leading role in the economic and urban development of the
Île-de-France region. While some of these risks are under
Société du Grand Paris s direct control, others are totally
outside its control, including those relating to changes at the
economic level or public policies on spatial planning.
Furthermore, while some risks have an impact on project
management, others will have an impact on the operational
needs of the metro once it is in service. This is particularly
true for changes in economic or demographic growth, which
may have an impact on the socio-economic profitability of
this new transport network.
To identify, manage and control these risks, we have
adopted an integrated risk management, audit and
compliance approach. Implemented throughout the
company and the Grand Paris Express, we use this approach
to assess our organisation s performance and keep track of
internal recommendations (action plans resulting from
internal controls and audits) and external recommendations
(action plans requested by our oversight bodies or resulting
from external controls).
