Rail enthusiasts had been eagerly awaiting the first public appearance of the Alstom-manufactured test train that will be part of the rolling stock carrying passengers on Lines 15, 16 and 17. As the train made its first laps around the track at the Valenciennes rail test centre on 2 November, fans were quick to post about it on social media. The design of the front end of the trains for Line 18 is also moving forward, after a consultation with the people of Île-de-France at the end of 2021. The new metro chosen by Île-de-France Mobilités and Société du Grand Paris will be comfortable, fast and environmentally friendly, with a recyclability rate of over 96%. In short, a transport system for the 21st century.
