The Grand Paris Express is moving forward, bolstered
by the experience gained and now shared among this
unprecedented project s entire partner community across
France and Europe. Six years after the first civil engineering
work started in Clamart, the tunnel boring machines
continue to make progress and the stations and structures
now taking shape. New challenges lay ahead for Société du
Grand Paris employees in 2021, with development work
scheduled to follow, and in some cases overlap,
infrastructure work. The station districts the forerunners
of the city of tomorrow are gradually taking form,
supported by the urban strategy and by the subsidiary
responsible for developing our land assets, SGP Immo.
Everything was set for the Grand Paris Express to achieve
its full potential on the urban stage in this strategic year for
the project.
Mobilisation was a key theme for 2021, driving forward
the urban development of the station districts to
successfully transform the metropolitan area, now more
necessary than ever. The government package, launched by
the Prime Minister at the Strategy Committee, marks a new
stage for the Grand Paris Express. It moves it from beyond
just a transport network to becoming a catalyst in the
development of a low-carbon city that cares for its residents
and protects its natural resources. Alongside public-sector
stakeholders, we will work to build new housing and
business premises, whilst contributing to the social diversity
of the metropolitan area and we will remain committed to
environmental excellence for all. Clarity was the second key
theme in 2021. The new metro s commissioning schedule
